ABOUT OUR CHAPTER

Early in the year 2003 a core group of industry professionals decided that the Virginia market could use some organization, and decided to feel out the market for the potential of creating a local chapter. After sending out a simple questionnaire of would you be interested in becoming an active member of a new chapter, the decision to proceed toward the goal of becoming an official chapter of the larger national organization. The first official dinner meeting presentation was held on November 5th, 2003 and it was there it began with ICRI National Past-President Robert Thaxton as speaker.

The initial board was lead by experienced engineer, Pete Lipphardt, for the first two years of its inception. A few other founders have gone on to become president over the years since the chapter began, and it is with their leadership that this chapter headed in a true path toward success. The chapter evolved from its beginnings of only simple dinner meetings and golf outings to more elaborate symposiums offering professional development hours and AIA credits to engineers and architects alike. Our passion for this industry and its evolution is apparent in our educational topic selections. Our attempt is to stay at the forefront of new technology in concrete repair industry by bringing best practices and new practices to the table.
